Vanillaware sets a new standard for itself. (and the strategy genre) with this year’s Unicorn Overlord is an intense strategy game that offers challenging gameplay. Complemented by a beautiful art style and a charming soundtrack.
Unicorn Overlord is filled with characters that can be recruited and used in battle. With a large number of playable characters and classes, It feels like each battle has endless variations. Like any good strategy game, Unicorn Overlord rewards players for experimenting with their lineups and gameplay.
Despite its large cast of characters, Unicorn Overlord manages to tell a gripping story where each character gets their signature moment. Each character is fully voiced. which creates a sense of individuality
Aside from the great gameplay, Unicorn Overlord is also a beautiful piece of art. In our review, TJ Denzer called it the best-looking game for Vanillaware, and it’s not hard to see why. In addition to the art form Unicorn Overlord’s soundtrack will stick with you long after you’re done playing the RPG.
