Day 5 of the Space Telescope Advent Calendar 2024: This image from the James Webb Space Telescope captures one of the sharpest infrared images to date of the Horsehead Nebula. and the night sky filled with distant galaxies beyond. It shows part of the sky in the constellation Orion. Above the turbulent waves of dust and gas of the Horsehead Nebula Also known as Barnard 33, it is approximately 1,300 light years away.
