A taxi slams into a group of pedestrians on a busy New York City street. As a result, at least six people were injured at a popular Christmas Day tourist spot.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) confirmed to Fox News Digital that a taxi crashed into a group of pedestrians in Herald Square at 6th Avenue and West 34th Street shortly after 4:00 PM ET.
The taxi driver was identified as a 58-year-old man, police said. They did not say what caused the accident.
The six patients with various symptoms were taken to area hospitals for treatment, police said.

Officials said a 9-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with a leg injury, a 41-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with a head injury, and a 49-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with a leg injury.
The others refused further medical treatment after the accident, police said.
Herald Square is a popular tourist attraction. Especially during the holiday season It’s where Broadway, Sixth Avenue, and 34th Street meet.

No one was arrested after the accident. The cause of the incident is still under investigation, police said.
