From what we’ve seen on social media, the Pop-Tarts Bowl is full of hilarious content.

But it appears there was an incident during Saturday’s game between two Miami Hurricanes that led to the clash.

Senior Simeon Barrow Jr. and freshman Marquise Lightfoot were separated after Barrow Jr. threw a punch and Lightfoot shoved Barrow.

The Hurricanes don’t want to play Saturday. They controlled their own destiny and headed to the College Football Playoff, but only after losing to Syracuse in the final week of the season. They were eliminated from the ACC title game and eventually the tournament.

The brouhaha came after a high-scoring first quarter in which the Hurricanes allowed 21 points to the Iowa State Cyclones in a 42-41 win.

Cam Ward, a first-round pick in the NFL Draft, played only in the first half, leaving the game after Miami took a 31-28 lead before halftime.

Longtime sports broadcaster, broadcaster GREG GUMBEL dies at 78

After the game, the Pop-Tarts mascot was “toasted” and the Cyclones were awarded a toaster.

It was the first time the Cyclones won 11 games in a season.

The game’s MVP, Rocco Becht, scored from a quarter and scored with 56 seconds left for the game-winning touchdown.

Becht finished with 270 yards and three touchdowns for Iowa State (11-2), a program that entered the season having never won more than nine games in a season.
