The Devils pulled off the ultimate troll job for the Rangers during their dominant victory.

The New Jersey Devils own this year’s Hudson River rival. And they had another W to celebrate. Aside from the 5-0 win over the New York Rangers.

More than five years ago, the Devils and Rangers, respectively, had the first and second overall NHL Draft picks, and the picks were simple.

Jack Hughes and Kaapo Kakko were long assumed to be the number one and two picks that year. And that’s what happened.

However, that night during the Rangers’ draft party at Madison Square Garden, Ranger fans applauded the Devils for selecting Hughes. Whether it was because they liked Kakko or they were torn between the two players and didn’t want to be torn between the two, that is. up to discuss

On the Devils scoreboard, a video was played of one of the aforementioned Kakko celebrations by Rangers fans, and the camera immediately panned to Hughes, who couldn’t help but laugh.

It’s been a disappointing season for Rangers. After being a Stanley Cup finalist last year and possibly missing the playoffs, New Jersey, meanwhile, could make a serious run for the Cup this year. with Hughes leading the way
