President Donald Trump announced several appointments as his team prepares to transition to the White House next year.
The new president announced Jamieson. Greer was his choice to serve as the next U.S. trade representative. Greer previously served as the trade representative’s chief of staff during Trump’s first term. That was Robert Lighthizer at a time when the administration was imposing tariffs on China and other countries.
In announcing Greer’s nomination Trump said in a statement that Greer was instrumental in his first term in imposing tariffs on China and other countries. and replaces trade agreements with Canada and Mexico. “So it makes American workers much better off.”
If confirmed by the Senate Greer will be responsible for negotiating directly with foreign governments on trade agreements and disputes. This includes membership in international trade organizations such as the World Trade Organization.
Also nominated is Jim O’Neill to serve as deputy secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) to work with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has been tapped to lead the agency.

O’Neill, who serves as deputy secretary of HHS, “will fight unitedly to ensure that all Americans and especially our most precious resource. which is our children and grandchildren Will have a long and healthy life. And make America great and healthy again!” Trump said.
Trump also appointed Vince Haley, who served as speechwriter during his campaign. to serve as Director of the Domestic Policy Council and Kevin A. Hassett to lead the White House National Economic Council.
“I am proud to announce that Vince Haley, who serves as Director of Policy and Speechwriting for my Winning Campaign, will lead my domestic policy agenda as Director of the Domestic Policy Council.” Rump said in a statement.

“Vince helped lead the speechwriting department in my first administration. By working to convey our message to the public,” he added. “Prior to joining my 2016 campaign, he worked for 12 years in various roles. So much for Newt Gingrich, a man I respect so much.”
Haley served as policy director and campaign manager for Gingrich’s 2012 presidential campaign.

Kevin Hassett, a 62-year-old economist, has been appointed director of the White House National Economic Council. As a result, Trump became the main supporter of tax cuts. He played a key role in helping design and pass the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, Trump said.
He will also “play a key role in helping American families recover from the inflation caused by the Biden administration,” and they will “renew and enhance” their 2017 tax cuts together, many of them. It is scheduled to expire after 2025.
Hassett served in Trump’s first term as chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers.
