Valve is bringing SteamOS to the Lenovo Legion Go S

Steam Deck is powered by SteamOS, Valve’s proprietary software that allows users to carry their PC game libraries anywhere. Over the past few years, several competitors have joined the portable PC gaming market. Take and Valve are looking to spread the love in 2025. SteamOS is coming to the Lenovo Legion Go S, the first third-party device to launch with software support.

Valve announces new SteamOS philosophy in Blog post Today. Valve teams up with Lenovo for an upcoming “Powered By SteamOS” model of mobile devices. and said the company “Updates are being made to ensure (SteamOS) fully supports the Lenovo Legion Go S. and deliver the same seamless experience that customers expect.”

Ahead of the launch of the Lenovo Legion Go S later this year, Valve will release a beta version of SteamOS that will support non-Steam Deck mobile devices. Users will be able to download the beta and test it on their devices.

SteamOS comes from the Steam Deck and is designed specifically for gaming on the go. Along with a feature that allows players to suspend the game and resume it later. The Linux-based software was previously only available on Valve mobile devices, but will begin expanding to third-party devices this year.
