Rob Shepherd recently hosted a holiday meal. But there’s a new kind of soup.
The Virginia pastor also gave his party a celebratory name.
“Soup-mas is a fun gathering with a small group. ours from the church,” Shepherd told Fox News Digital in an interview. “We meet every week to study the Bible. And this is our Christmas party as a group.”

Normally, he said, the group doesn’t have much to offer. But this year, they’re embracing new creativity.

This idea is a winner. But the next point is how can guests enjoy soup at a potluck party?
That creates great ideas. Another thing came up.
“My wife had the idea to put muffin tins in soup bowls as well. So it’s easy to try different soups,” Shepherd said. “There were six couples in our group, so we had to prepare five different soups, and one couple brought dessert.”

“They are all delicious. But my favorite is broccoli cheese soup,” Shepherd said.
Shepherd was very pleased with the meal. So he decided to share the idea on social media.

“Something bad might happen online. And one of my goals is to provide positive content,” he said.
Shepherd said he joined TikTok in 2020 “just because I had more time.”
This winter pot roast recipe is a hearty dish with a ‘soft’ flavor.
“I post games, recipes, and family fun,” Shepherd said.
And his soup pole is hot.
“I didn’t expect it to go this viral. It had 3 million views on TikTok and 3.9 million views on Instagram,” Shepherd told Fox News Digital last week.
Before posting the video on Instagram, he had 1,500 followers. After the clip, he grew to 15,000 followers.

“I was amazed by the response,” he said.

“I keep sending messages from friends who get soup videos from friends. And they were so excited to let their friends know they knew me in real life,” Shepherd said.
“The whole thing was fun.”
