The Drowned is an assault rifle in Stalker 2 that can be slightly affected by exposure to the environment. But a small investment can bring it back to normal use.
Where to find a submersible assault rifle in Stalker 2?
The Drowning Assault Rifle can be found outside Slag Heap in Garbage. There is a concrete bridge that spans two pools of water. Where you can find a character named Boo. Talk to him and he will tell you that he has lost his weapon.
They can actually be found on the ground below. Leaning against a concrete slab at the water’s edge, this weapon was now useless. And even if you accept a small mission from Boo to get it for him. It can still disappear due to an obvious glitch that causes both Boo and Drowned to disappear.
So when you talk to Boo, go down to the pond and immediately grab the weapon. After you return to Boo, you can give him the weapon or keep it for yourself. Giving him a weapon won’t give you any benefit. So you might as well tell him you’ll keep it.
Repairs will cost quite a bit of money. But it’s worth it because the weapons are actually quite good. And it comes with a grenade launcher on the bottom to help you deal with more pressing threats. Ammunition for that is rather hard to find, though.
