Dear James

Normally I’m a quiet person. and don’t care about your own business But in the past few weeks I have conflicts with people over small things. Today I was yelled at twice. I’m not sure if it was me or them or a phase of the moon.

This morning I was driving in my neighborhood. Visibility was poor due to the long shadows of the winter morning. A man in black walks across the road. At first I didn’t see him. I stop on time But I feel like I have to apologize. So I rolled down the window and said I was sorry. He came to the car and yelled at me and then leaned in to continue screaming in my face.

And this afternoon I took the dog to our local park. I usually let my dogs off leash sometimes. As many neighbors have done, this time my dog escaped and ran into the yard next to the park. The homeowner who was outside ran towards the dog and shouted using polite words. I put the dog on a leash, apologized, and hurried away.

In both cases, I was wrong, but I was surprised by the intensity of the reaction. Am I a fool? Or is everyone about to have a fuse? Or was it a coincidence and I read too much into it?

Dear readers

Great atmosphere in this letter. “The Long Shadow of a Winter Morning” is right, and the violation is felt in the second episode. Triggered Insecurities and Boundaries: Love it.

You definitely don’t look like a crazy person. A fool cannot write descriptive prose. (That may not be true at all. Good Essay Topic “Assholes Can not Write Descriptive Prose: Discuss”) Additionally – and not much of an argument – an asshole has no concept of doing anything wrong, or he does, but he just uses it on another guy. On the contrary You are quite haunted by these events. And you worry about your role in those events.

The day you describe it with shouts and mental abrasions. It’s a day that can make people crazy about you. You start thinking about astrology, tarot cards, feelings, telepathy, the underworld, I could go on, is there a planet moving in the wrong direction like a ferocious mule? Is the collective mind developing? I’m releasing strange powers. Does it come out unconsciously to trigger this response?

I relate deeply to what’s worth your bully dog’s dilemma. My dog, Sunny, was born to cross the line and breach the gap. And we’ve both been scolded, shamed, and banished many times. On balance, I think it’s good for me. (For him too, probably, but Sunny—as a dog—is there for his advice.)

I’ve been thinking a lot about your question: Did any of this happen by chance? And the answer I consider is: It doesn’t matter. Maybe you feel sick, tired, a little unusual. You drive distractedly for a moment. Your dog is moving too fast for you, so what? No damage occurred. And you apologize in both cases. Curse the angry man on the road. and curses the owner of the house for being irritable and hostile to dogs. Let them rage and shake their fists slightly. Let them go according to blood pressure. Don’t invest with mystical powers of divination.

Raise your glass to rebel fangs everywhere.
