A 71-year-old Florida man was shot and killed by his neighbor on Thanksgiving Day. While the two were quarreling Broward Sheriff’s Office said
Hureleyon McLean, 71, went downstairs to talk to his Lauderdale Lakes neighbor who had left a message complaining that his music was too loud during the holiday, McLean’s widow, Rose, told WTVJ.
“I heard it and flew to the door,” she said of the gunfire. “When I looked out My husband was lying face down in a pool of blood.”

The accused gunman, who has not been named, claimed self-defense in the incident. The sheriff’s office said no charges have been filed.
“My husband doesn’t have any weapons. My husband didn’t even have a knife with him,” Rose told the station. It is claimed that the suspect threatened her after he shot her husband.

Rose said they plan to celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends. On that day, something unexpected happened.
“He has no remorse,” she told WSVN about the gunman. “He just stood there looking at me with the same gun in his hand. And then I went up to him and said, ‘Why did you shoot my husband? Why?’ And he told me that if I didn’t shut up, He will shoot me too.”
McLean’s pastor was shocked by the shooting.
“It’s crazy that humanity has gotten to the point where we don’t honor life as much as we should,” Tracy McCloud told WSVN. “Who would have thought something so tragic would happen?”
Hureleyon is a father of two sons and grandfather.

“No matter where he is. I’m always with him,” Rose told WSVN. “We’re like a team together. For him to be taken away like this, believe me, it is very difficult.”
Police said the Broward County State’s Attorney’s Office will determine whether criminal charges will be filed after the investigation.
