Vice President-elect J.D. Vance Came out to praise his Ohio State Buckeyes. After their shocking loss to rival Michigan on Saturday. Internet is not very responsive
Vance posted on X saying the Buckeyes played like “champions” and he was “proud of them.”
“To the OSU seniors on that team: I know it sucks to lose four to Michigan. But for your college career? You guys act like champs. I speak for almost all of us fans when I say: We are proud of you!” Vance wrote.
The Buckeyes made this game a 21-point favorite, losing to a top opponent for the fourth time in a row. Michigan State’s 2024 class is the program’s worst team in years. They entered the game with a 6-5 record.

The Buckeyes were also involved in an altercation with a Michigan player after the game.
Ohio State lost to Michigan for the fourth year in a row in a major upset. Playoff status is up in the air.
Vance is the recipient of many opportunities due to his pledge of loyalty to the team to respond.
“Ohio State sucks and so do you!” one user wrote.
Another user said Vance’s post encouraged him to rethink his approval of Vance as Trump’s vice president.
“First time I disagree with JD in (a minute). Maybe Trump should take a different path for the VP role!” the user wrote.
Another user questioned Vance, praising players who would start brawls after games.
“’Act like a champ’ didn’t they just get into a fight that got Michigan players pepper-sprayed because they lost sorely?” the user wrote.
Several law enforcement officials were also involved in breaking up the fight. Video shared on social media appears to show players being pepper-sprayed. And both Michigan and Ohio players seemed hurt by the incident.
After the fight, Michigan running back Kalel Mullings told FOX Sports in an on-field interview that the incident “It’s not good for the sport.”

Vance previously revealed that he told Trump that loyalty to the Buckeyes could affect Trump’s chances of winning the key battleground state of Michigan.
“When he first asked me to be vice president, I was like, ‘You know, let’s hope we don’t lose Michigan by about 900 votes, because you’re going to regret it. Because it was probably only a thousand votes — Wolverine fans who didn’t like voted for the Buckeyes,” Vance said during an appearance on OutKick’s show. “The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show”
“But I think the majority of Michiganders will be able to put aside sports competition and put the country first. Which, of course, we all believe is the most important thing.”
The Democratic National Committee attempted to capitalize on Vance’s connection to Ohio with its campaign strategy in Michigan in early September. The DNC flew a plane over the Michigan football game on September 7, along with The banner reads “J.D. Vance (Loves) Ohio State (Plus) Project 2025.”
The Trump-Vance ticket ends up easily carrying Michigan.
Vance also suggested in the interview that Trump and Vance would attend Saturday’s game if they win the election.
“Okay, let’s go to the Ohio State-Michigan game, let’s say we win. Because I bet I’ll get a sweet ticket as vice president-elect. And we’re going to be in a celebratory mood,” Vance said on OutKick. “And look, it’s going to be a big game this year. I think it will determine the final standings in the College Football Playoff.
“I mean, right now both teams could really make the playoffs. I know Michigan. Someone didn’t rank them as high as possible this year. But you never know. Because it’s always a good program, so we’ll see, I feel really good about the Buckeyes.
Both Trump and Vance were absent from Saturday’s Ohio State-Michigan game.
