A Michigan man is accused of stabbing the president of the company he worked for during a meeting. It may be a “copycat” attack, mirroring the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Eric Denslow, head of Anderson Express Inc., a manufacturing company in Muskegon, was stabbed during a staff meeting Tuesday, the Fruitport Township Police Department said in a statement.
“We don’t rule out any copycat intent on this,” Deputy Police Commissioner Greg Polson told News 8 Wednesday. “I think that’s on everyone’s mind at this time.”

Denslow underwent surgery and remains in serious but stable condition, police said.
The suspect, Nathan Mahoney, 32, was at a staff meeting at about 9:20 a.m. when he got up and left. He returned 10 minutes later, walking towards Denslow. and allegedly stabbed him in his side. News agency reports
Mahoney fled in his car but was stopped and arrested 15 minutes later, police said. He had only been with the company for a few weeks.

Fellow employees said the suspect had a quiet demeanor. Investigators have not determined a motive for the attack, however, they have not ruled out a possible copycat attack.
“We are investigating all of his social media accounts. all his electronic media and try to determine the motive for this action,” Polson said.
Denslow joined the company in January 2022 as vice president and general manager. According to his LinkedIn profile, he was promoted to president within a year.
Anderson Express works with the automotive and defense sectors. Fox News Digital has reached out to the company. In a statement sent to Fox 17, the company said it remains “shocked” by the incident.
“Our first thought was to stay with our president. There is a good prognosis for a full and speedy recovery,” the statement said. “We are also focused on supporting our employees as they deal with this senseless attack.
Manhoney is charged with assault with intent to murder and escape. He is being held in the Muskegon County Jail on a $501,000 bond.

The incident bears some resemblance to the Dec. 11 killing of four Thompsons, who were shot dead in New York City. The suspected gunman, Luigi Mangione, was extradited from Pennsylvania to New York on Thursday.
