Computer maker Acer is one of the few PC technology companies that has yet to launch it. Portable gaming device that looks like a Steam Deck– That changes later this year when three different portable PC devices are released. One of them was so big it almost looked like a joke. And it really raises questions. Is it still a portable device anymore?

Announced at CES 2025, Acer’s Nitro Blaze 11 It has an 11-inch, 2,560 x 1,600 IPS display with a 120Hz refresh, so how does Acer fit in such a relatively large screen? Compared to most portable devices in Nitro Blaze 11 while still ensuring that it is a portable device that you can easily carry around? They don’t. Look at a picture of an adult male holding this thing and tell me it’s portable.

This is not a picture I created to be a stupid picture. This is a real shot from Acer and it definitely makes me laugh every time I look at it. Nitro Blaze 11 There are two USB-C ports, a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-A port (nice!), and a microSD card slot. It also has solid internal specs, with an AMD Ryzen 7 8840 chip, Radeon 780M graphics, and 1280P RAM. 16GB and up to 2TB SSD storage

But come on. watch In the picture above This can be a powerful gaming device. But not portable. I mean, I guess if your definition of portable is “You can technically carry it yourself.” Of course, the Nitro Blaze 11 counts as a portable PC. Still, I’m not sold on the idea that many people want a Steam Deck-like device that’s bigger than a cat. It contradicts one of the biggest selling points with these: you can take them anywhere and play all your games with ease.

Acer seems to understand that this might not be the product for everyone. It will also offer smaller, more Steam Deck-sized portable PCs. The Nitro Blaze 8 has similar specs. But it has an 8-inch screen and is priced at $900. The smaller and slightly less powerful Blaze 7 It will be available later this year for $800.

And for those wanting a portable desktop PC crammed into a medium-sized container, the Acer Nitro Blaze 11 and its ridiculously large screen will retail for $1,100 at that point. You might actually want to buy a laptop for gaming.
