Long-time owner of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, often finds himself in front of the microphone. In general, this billionaire is not shy about sharing his thoughts about the football teams he owns. But sometimes he will delve into other matters.
Jones’ recent regular appearances on Dallas radio station 105.3 The Fan turned out to be somewhat unusual. At one point during the conversation Jones revealed that he likes to eat raccoons and squirrels.
It seems like Carolina Panthers rookie Xavier Legette’s name was used as a starting point for a conversation about food preferences. Jones then brought up his past experiences with raccoons and squirrels.

BROWNS switch from JAMEIS WINSTON likely in the rotation to DORIAN THOMPSON-ROBINSON at QB.
“I eat a lot of raccoons,” Jones said in a nod to Legette’s food preferences. “Yes, the answer is yes, I eat them hunting. And my mother served it at the table when I wasn’t hunting. …It’s not strange at all.”
Jones also recalls a time when a squirrel sparked a conversation in the family about who could eat certain parts of the animal.
“One of my favorites is squirrel,” Jones continues. “It’s amazing and my mom did a great job preparing it. We all have our favorites… My mother and I also ask for squirrel brains. They’re really delicious.”
