“Gladiator” star Russell Crowe is helping his friend save his leg.
Charlie Allan, the stuntman in “Gladiator,” is renovating the entrance to his garage. When he fell from the top of the building It induces a “crunch” sensation all the way up to the ankle, according to Kennedy News and Media.
Allan, 61, may have lost his leg in the fall. Crowe, who worked with him on “Gladiator” and “Robin Hood,” donated 5,000 pounds ($6,336) through Allan’s GoFundMe page.
“It was a great feeling and humbled me to have Russell Crowe donate, me and Russell going back to ‘Gladiator,’” Allan told the outlet. “In ‘Gladiator,’ I was a stuntman and an actor. I was the one who yelled at Russell. Crow with the severed head in his hand at the beginning of the story.

“After watching this scene It always gives me goosebumps. There were 15,000 people on set that day and it took three weeks to shoot the first 10 minutes of the film. So Russell and I became friends on ‘Gladiator.’ We’ve been friends for many years.”

According to Kennedy News and Media, Allan’s fall caused “a blocked artery in his left leg.” This left him in critical condition due to insufficient blood flow to his limbs.”

Kennedy News and Media reports that Allan was admitted to University Hospital Hairmyres in Glasgow and told he needed a procedure to repair his leg.
While at the hospital, Allan was waiting for vein replacement surgery after “His legs turned white and numb” twenty-four hours before the planned surgery. Allan was informed that they were unable to proceed with surgery due to a previous blunt force injury to his leg.

The shop reports that He was sent home with painkillers and blood thinners. And it is reported that there are no other surgeries available for him under the NHS.
After receiving the news, Allan’s wife of 33 years, Chara Gallos-Allan, launched a GoFundMe page in an effort to find alternative treatments to hopefully save his leg.
According to Kennedy News and Media, the goal of the GoFundMe is 25,000 euros (about $26,500) to help with thrombosis surgery outside of the UK.
“I am humbled and thrilled to have the opportunity to actually complete this process. If I can get it done before Christmas. It will be a very active and outdoorsy festival,” Allan said.
“I am a man with a fit body. I ride a bicycle and ride a horse. You have to keep your body healthy.”
Charlie details the incident to the news agency. and explain that the situation It “severely affected” his life.

“At this moment, I was able to walk about 20 feet before stopping. Because the pain became unbearable I stand up all the time. I organize charity events and teach children how to make swords for TV,” he said.
“I am an actor, a stuntman and a fighting stuntman. And it had a serious impact on my life. I can’t keep up with my son now that he’s older. And it destroys my quality of life.”

Allan noted that he has not been able to see “Gladiator II,” which stars Denzel Washington, Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal, but he “will see it when I can.”
