Police in Chamblee, Georgia, said that at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, 20-year-old Christian Fernando Irias-Ruiz ran a red light at 100 mph. and crashed into another car causing the driver’s death to local station WSB-TV

Sources told Fox News Digital that the suspect is an illegal immigrant from Honduras. He was arrested by Border Patrol agents in South Texas around June 2021 and released.

Sources say ICE is also holding inmates in the DeKalb County Jail.
Irias-Ruiz has been charged with several counts. This includes vehicular homicide in the first degree, drunk driving, reckless driving, and excessive speeding. and possession of alcoholic beverages by a person under 21 years of age.

“It won’t bring my brother back. But hopefully justice will be served,” Jason Chang, Jimmy Chang’s brother, told WSB-TV. “Right now we’re at a loss for what to do.”
Four people were taken to hospital due to their injuries in the accident. Including Irias-Ruiz and two passengers in his car. and another person was the driver of the third car.

The Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) also confirmed Chang’s passing and shared its condolences.
“With deep sorrow and deep sorrow, AREAA Atlanta Chapter 1 BOD would like to share news of the sudden passing of our chapter president and dear friend, Jimmy Chang,” the post said.

Chang’s brother told WSB-TV that their family is devastated and is still shocked that their beloved Jimmy has passed away.
“Now it is damaging to the whole family. But still can’t process that he’s gone. He impacted so many people’s lives,” Jason Chang said.
Fox News Digital has reached out to the Chamblee Police Department for comment. But did not receive an immediate response.
