Top aide to Vice President Kamala Harris during her presidential campaign revealed that internal polling had never seen her beat President-elect Donald Trump in a new appearance on the podcast.
“We didn’t have the break we needed on Election Day,” said David Plouffe, a senior adviser to Harris. PodSafeAmericaIt was a performance organized by former President Barack Obama’s staff.
“I think it surprised people because there was a public election that came out in late September and early October. It shows us clues we never saw.”

Plouffe, along with top Harris aides Jen O’Malley Dillon, Stephanie Cutter and Quentin Fulks, joined the podcast to share why they believe they lost the election.
Harris was Trump’s opponent and even defeated him in many well-respected public elections across the country, which Plouffe acknowledged.

“When Kamala Harris was the nominee, she fell behind. We climbed back. And even after the debate, you know, we are still stuck in a battleground state. But it’s very close, and I think in the end It was a jumping ball competition.”

“That’s not what we were told,” DNC National Finance Committee member and Harris campaign fundraiser Lindy Li shared with Fox News Digital.
“We were definitely told that she had a chance of winning. It wasn’t even a single shot. I even heard Pennsylvania was looking good, we were going to win 3-4 swing states.”
“And on election night…we were told we were going to win Iowa.”
Congress has only one week to avoid a partial government shutdown after Thanksgiving.

Li said it’s certainly not unusual for campaigns to conceal this kind of information.
“I’ve been doing this since I graduated college more than a decade (ago), definitely not.”

She also shared that donors’ trust must be earned back because there is daylight between what the campaign is telegraphing about the situation and reality. “But like any donor, they will be like that, there is no way,” Li said.
“It wasn’t shocking that he beat her. But to the extent that he beat her. It’s not even close. It was a decisive defeat.”
