Details on the emergency spending bill are expected to be delayed and may “Postponed by one day” as deadline to avoid government shutdown
Lawmakers were expected to share the text of an emergency spending bill to avoid a government shutdown and deal with disaster relief on Sunday, but Fox News has been told that the text “It may be postponed for a day.”
This comes as House and Senate lawmakers are negotiating how big the disaster relief package should be. And should it be attached to an end-of-year federal funding bill that is critical to avoiding a partial government shutdown during the holiday season?
This could pose a problem as government funding expires at 11:59:59pm on Friday, pushing back meaning the council may not be able to proceed with the bill until the end of the week.

The House has what’s called a “three-day rule,” which requires posts to be posted for three days before debate and voting. However, waiting until tomorrow means the House might not consider the bill until Thursday. or Friday which is the highest period of the deadline
Fox News has been told that no government funding will be withheld until mid-March. Or disaster packages for Hurricane Helene Milton, the wildfires in Maui, the Francis Scott Key bridge collapse in Baltimore. and tornadoes in the Midwest, but there is also the issue of agricultural provisions “and other things that are important to leaders on both sides of the aisle.”

One source declined to answer when asked by Fox whether there were any last-minute efforts to cobble together provisions in a comprehensive measure for Syria or drones.
In early October House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., told Fox News Digital that Helene is likely. “One of the most expensive storms the country has ever faced.”
The Biden administration has asked for more than $100 billion in disaster relief funding following Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
The House Freedom Caucus is an ultra-conservative group. Urges Republican leaders to reject President Biden’s request for disaster assistance.
The group is calling for a slimmer package that covers what It is “absolutely necessary” to compensate for spending cuts in other areas.

“Congress should not pass a $100 billion overdue supplemental disaster funding bill that Democrats will use to cement their own unrelated priorities. In the waning days of Democratic control in Washington before Republicans take control of the White House and both chambers of Congress,” read a statement from the House Freedom Caucus.
“The House of Representatives should consider only what is absolutely necessary. now to provide critical relief to hurricane victims and farmers. and pay for it through wasteful spending elsewhere in government, then wait for President Trump to take office to better manage disaster relief.”
If new spending is not approved through appropriations bills or temporary measures. A partial government shutdown could happen before Christmas.
