Incoming Missouri lawmakers have introduced a bill to allocate $1,000 to those who report illegal immigrants to authorities.
David Gregory, Republican State Senator Proposed measure that would offer $1,000 to any person who deports an illegal immigrant who is later arrested;
SB 72 would allow the state Department of Public Safety “Develop an information system for citizens to report violations of this Act. This will include a toll-free telephone hotline, email and an online reporting portal.”

The draft law will create “Missouri State Certified Alien Bounty Hunter Program” which would allow local citizens to serve as bounty hunters. “For the purpose of locating and detaining illegal aliens” in the state
Only bail bonds agents and collateral recovery agents can apply to the program to act as bounty hunters.
The proposal would criminalize anyone in the state as an illegal immigrant.

“At the time I was running for State Senate. I promise to make Missouri a national leader in the fight against illegal immigration,” Gregory said in a post on social media platform X.
“Now I am fulfilling my promise. SB 72 makes it a misdemeanor to be here illegally. And finally, this bill will allow Missouri law enforcement to find and apprehend illegal immigrants,” he continued. “We need every hand on deck to make sure we catch illegal immigrants before they catch them. He will commit a violent crime.”
