Ever since MSNBC signed radical activist Al Sharpton as its weekend host in 2011, matters of media ethics have been on its side: the “news” network hired the man who broadcast the Tawanna rape hoax. Brawley notoriously in the 1980s and paid $65,000 in damages. That doesn’t mean “news” is their top concern. Instead, MSNBC thinks it can assuage concerns about its hosts’ racial diversity by hiring the most provocative black activists. One person that can be found
The partnership began after several rounds of sugar promotion events on “60 Minutes,” said longtime CBS correspondent Lesley Stahl. It was revealed that Sharpton was an Obama insider. “Trusted White House adviser turned black leader of the president” Tongues wag over whether MSNBC is helping Obama or whether Sharpton was rewarded for supporting Comcast’s bid to buy NBC Universal in 2010.
For 13 years, MSNBC has never shown the slightest interest in media ethics when it comes to Sharpton’s “day job” as a racer is whatever the cause of the day is, from Trayvon Martin to George Floyd. The only time MSNBC limits Sharpton is when they demote the show. His “PoliticsNation” went the weekend in 2015.

Democrats seeking his endorsement rushed to a National Action Network meeting to ask for his blessing. In the last Democratic presidential primary campaign in 2019, 13 presidential candidates (including Joe Biden and Kamala Harris) made the pilgrimage to NAN.
This was underlined again when MSNBC claimed it was “unaware” that Sharpton’s National Action Network was paid $250,000 in September and October by the Kamala Harris campaign before Harris accepted the softball interview on the 20th. October

Harris has been extremely stingy in interviews with national media. Even with a network as fiercely affiliated as MSNBC, it’s not hard to imagine that donating to Sharpton helped her feel more comfortable that he would “play ball” with her and not ask difficult questions. (Harris also accepted an interview with former CNN pundit Roland Martin, whose company received $350,000 in cash from the Kamala campaign.)
In a press release announcing his interview with Harris, Sharpton made no mention of the donation. But soaring “Vice President Harris has been a friend of the National Action Network for more than 20 years, and I am thrilled to welcome her to the program. “PoliticsNation” this Sunday for what will no doubt be a strong debate about the future of black America.”
It wasn’t “robust.” Sharpton asked Harris five casual questions, not counting supportive messages about her passion. He slammed Trump for calling Harris “vice president” and worried about what we are teaching young people. The New York Times and others Promoting Kamala’s answer that Trump Trump “insults the office” with his vulgar remarks….unlike MSNBC’s frequent calls for Trump to be a “fascist.”
