Patriots sing ‘Fire Mayo’ as team suffers crushing loss to Chargers

New England Patriots fans seem to have had enough of Jerod Mayo as the head coach’s first season at the helm comes to an end.

New England falls to 3-13 with the loss. If the Patriots lose next week, the three wins would be their lowest total since they finished 2-14 in 1992. The team is at 4-13 last season – last year at the Bills Belichick at the helm Mayo replaced Belichick in January.

Mayo was asked about his post-game chants.

“You hear those things. But at the same time They pay to sit in the seats. And we have to play better,” Mayo told reporters. Via ESPN– “If we play better We don’t have to hear that.”

Deatrich Wise Jr., who has been with the Patriots since 2017, and Davon Godchaux both supported Mayo after the loss to the Chargers.

Wise said he thinks he and his teammates should continue to believe in mayo.

“This guy is in his first season. It won’t be golden. “We didn’t expect to win the Super Bowl this year. I get it. No one wants to lose 40-7, but singing is ridiculous,” Godchaux added.

“Everyone is involved in this. It’s not just Jerod Mayo, the players, coaches and front office. We just have to get better overall as an organization,” he said. “I believe in this organization.
