In his comprehensive report, “Poison Ivy: DEI and the Downfall of the Ivys,” Jacobson examines the programs that eight Ivy League institutions use and require for students.
“Our review of the Ivy League Code of Conduct CriticalRace.org The project reflects the Ivy League school’s strong efforts to comply with the Supreme Court’s decision on affirmative action. while maintaining DEI solutions and practices that remain obsessed with racial identity,” Jacobson told Fox News Digital.

In his report, Jacobson shows how Ivy League institutions are avoiding the June 29, 2023, Supreme Court ruling that race cannot be used in university admissions decisions.
“Ivy League universities pretend to be race-agnostic. But give students the opportunity to ask essay questions about their race,” he said.
“The Supreme Court’s affirmative action decision came in the context of college admissions. But it is clear that the court’s opinion at its core is a determination of the Equal Protection Clause that applies to other university contexts.”
Research results
In his report, Jacobson found that of the eight Ivy League universities:
- Four are required to receive DEI training in student orientation programs (Columbia, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale).
- Six required some level of training from DEI faculty or staff (Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Penn, Princeton, and Yale).
- All eight have DEI offices at the institutional and/or departmental level.
- Five have strategic plans related to DEI or anti-racism (Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, and Yale).
- All eight have DEI or CRT (Critical Race Theory) topics in their classes and curriculum.
- All eight have bias reporting systems.
Jacobson said he found that while the university “pretends” it’s racially insensitive, But in practice it often does.
“Ivy League universities pretend to be race-agnostic. But give students the opportunity to ask essay questions about their race,” he said.

“It is hard to believe that in an environment where DEI is the dominant ideology and has quasi-religious enthusiasm. Race does not, in fact, enter into admissions decisions. This is despite window dressing to provide possible legal protection.”
Brown University
The report found that every Brown department is required to have a multi-year plan for DEI.

Columbia University
As part of the orientation program, students at Columbia participate in the “Inclusion & Belonging” program, which Jacobson said “includes concepts such as inclusion, diversity, equity, allyship, and bias.”
Cornell University
At Cornell, student groups DoBetterCornell Participate in the development of educational requirements that focus on topics such as systematic racism, bias, colonialism. and inequality
Jacobson also found that in 2024, the Center for Racial Justice and an Equal Future launched to focus on anti-Black racism.
Dartmouth University
All students at Dartmouth are required to take a Culture and Identity class.
Harvard University
Harvard has an Office for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Inclusion. which has group teaching institutes as well It is dedicated to training faculty and staff to incorporate group teaching.
Princeton University
In the Princeton report, employees student leader All faculty involved in graduate admissions and recruitment are required to take the Culture and Diversity class. and DEI training
University of Pennsylvania
Penn has a multicultural curriculum requirement for all undergraduate students. The same is true for the Cross-Cultural Perspectives course for all Wharton School students.
University of Michigan can cancel DEI program
In 2022, the Ivy League introduced DEI and Environmental, Social, and Governance Factors for Business (ESGB) majors and concentrations for Wharton students at both the major and undergraduate levels.
Jacobson noted that Penn also has a program called Projects for Progress, which offers grants of up to $100,000 for projects focused on topics such as systematic racism.
Yale University
Yale has a stipulation that each school and administration should have a five-year plan regarding DEI, Jacobson reports.
The Equal Protection Program focuses on challenging racial discrimination. The organization has challenged more than 100 scholarships and programs that discriminate against white and Asian students at universities across the country.

“To fully achieve the standards of non-discrimination in accordance with the Supreme Court decision. The race-obsessed culture at Ivy League schools needs to change,” Jacobson said. “It will be a long process. The Supreme Court decision is only the first step.”
