“Rocky IV” star Dolph Lundgren is celebrating his health this holiday season.
The Swedish-born actor posted an update from his hospital bed before surgery earlier this week. by declaring that he “Finally cancer free with gratitude and excitement for a bright future.”
In the video, Lundgren said, “I’m at UCLA, I’m going in to get rid of that last tumor. Because there are no more cancer cells in my body. I guess I’m cancer free. I am looking forward to this process.”
He explained that he was undergoing lung surgery. This is a minimally invasive procedure that uses mechanical heating or cooling to destroy tumor tissue. Follow Mayo Clinic

“It was a tough journey and taught me how to live in the moment and really enjoy every moment of life. I mean, it’s the only way to go,” Lundgren said before signing to head to surgery.

“It’s going to take a little longer for me to break my hair,” he added with a winking emoji. It was a nod to his famous line in “Rocky IV” when he told Sylvester Stallone, “I must destroy you.”

Lundgren was first diagnosed with cancer in 2015 when doctors discovered a tumor on his kidney. Doctors were able to remove the tumor. And he remained cancer-free for five years.
“(I am) finally cancer free, grateful and excited for a bright future.”
During an interview on “In Depth With Graham Bensinger,” he revealed that doctors found He discovered “a few more tumors around the area” in 2020 and six additional tumors were removed, but one had grown to “lemon sized” in his liver and doctors were unable to remove it.
“It doesn’t look good,” told Fox News Digital in January of this year. “I mean, there was a doctor in London who told me you should stop working and spend more time with your family. Then I realized it was serious.”

“And last year I had all those tumors removed,” Lundgren recalls. “They harden or use radiation. And now I live a normal life. Except I have to get a scan every three months. But everything else is back to normal.” So it was scary and wonderful at the same time.”
