The son of U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer, R.N.D., will spend decades in prison after he was convicted of killing a sheriff’s deputy in a car crash while fleeing from law enforcement.
Ian Cramer, 43, will serve 28 years in prison for the death of Mercer County Sheriff’s Deputy Paul Martin, 53, which occurred on December 1, 2018. 2023.
State District Judge Bobby Weiler sentenced Cramer to 38 years in prison, with 10 years suspended, three years probation and credit for time served. She said he might not serve the entire sentence. Because those aren’t mandatory minimums, according to The Associated Press.
