Shacknews Best Comebacks of 2024 – EA Sports College Football 25

During the past decade Almost all hope was lost when watching a college football video game again. This is because the tide is rapidly changing in college sports regarding player likeness and rights. So there’s reason to believe that publisher Electronic Arts will never return to college football. As the Madden NFL franchise continues to sell So there wasn’t much incentive to do so. Things changed in 2024 and EA took a chance on college games. The result is an epic comeback story led by EA Sports College Football 25.

It almost feels remiss to say that College Football 25’s biggest strength is that it isn’t Madden. As such, one of its greatest strengths is that it works differently with a more arcade-like presentation. Less emphasis on rules and a greater sense of freedom of play with Revamped Passing. The game feels markedly different from many previous EA soccer games, using meters to help players with curves and accuracy. Passing the ball Ideas like the Wear & Tear system help reinforce strategies over time. and help feed returning features like Dynasty Mode.

College wouldn’t be college without a presentation that felt like a game or campus gathering. College Football 25 was designed with the college experience in mind. This is especially true when it comes to competitive games and playing on hostile turf fields. Level of detail From drum lines to mascots It was a surprising thing to see. But there’s still enough room for improvement that EA can make the package even better in the series’ next outing.

EA Sports College Football 25 is a big deal for Electronic Arts in 2024. It would be enough if this was just EA’s leap into college gaming, however, it’s also an indisputable success. Starting with the best selling football game of all time in the United States. The best-selling sports video game in a while– That’s an amazing achievement. Truly worthy of Shacknews’ Best Comeback of 2024.

Ozzie has been playing video games since he picked up his first NES controller at age 5. He’s been into games ever since. Having only briefly stepped away from university, he was brought back in after spending several years in QA for both THQ and Activision, with much of that time spent helping push the Guitar Hero series to new heights. Ozzie has become Big fan of platform games, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few. But he’s also a total sucker for anything that has a good, compelling narrative behind it. After all, what’s a video game if you can’t enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
