A teacher in Mississippi had to leave his job after accidentally feeding students dog treats during a class celebration, according to local ABC affiliate WTVA.
A former Calhoun City High School employee who is not currently being identified by the Calhoun County School District. They were accused of mistaking it for beef jerky.
At least eight children ate at least one bite of the candy Wednesday, according to Dr. Lisa Langford, district superintendent.

Langford also praised the nurses for their quick response to the situation. This included poison control calls. According to WTVA, the district also notified parents of affected children of the situation.
