The Ravens waived Pro Bowl receiver Diontae Johnson after a tenure filled with drama.

The ugly marriage between the Baltimore Ravens and Diontae Johnson is over.

The Ravens acquired Johnson in October with hopes of disrupting their already strong offense.

Johnson has done nothing but. And his team waived it on Friday.

The trade was a disaster from the start. In his first game with the team Johnson had just one catch for six yards. That turned out to be his only gripe with the team.

The Ravens banned Johnson earlier this month, saying he refused to play with the Philadelphia Eagles. Earlier this week, the Ravens requested him from practice.

Johnson was certainly relieved to be traded by the lowly Carolina Panthers to a team that was a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Now it looks like he’s on the hunt for his third team in as many months.

Johnson played in just four games for the Ravens.

The Ravens will host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, so it speaks volumes that the Ravens are giving up about 24 hours before an AFC North matchup that could decide the playoff race.
