U.S. Rep. Ritchie Torres, a Democrat from the Bronx attacked New York leaders last weekend for their failure to reform the criminal justice system. which causes “Murder rampage” in broad daylight last week This resulted in the murder of three innocent people at the hands of a violent and mentally ill person. He added that “multiple layers of government failure” led to Ramon Rivera, an eight-time felon whose most recent incarceration involved a transfer to the psychiatric ward at Bellevue Hospital, where he attacked correctional officers.
The mayor slammed his own party after an hours-long stabbing spree.

Adams also blamed Hochul for the stabbing spree. They called on Albany to give city police more power. “In setting up people’s institutions” during a press conference last week.

The stabbing happened while Daniel Penny, a 26-year-old Marine veteran, was studying architecture in the city. Another man is on trial for the death of a homeless man, Jordan Neely, who died after Penny grabbed him while shouting death threats in a subway car.
The defense ended its case Friday by revealing that Neely had an open warrant for his arrest on the day of his death.

Torres has a history of taking a moderate stance. and objected to the left wing of his party supporting pro-Hamas protesters. Crime-busting policies and other “ivory-spear nonsense” he argued with Democrats on Election Day.
