The Marshall Thundering Herd picked up a close 42-35 win over the Old Dominion Monarchs on Saturday night. to maintain its lead over Georgia Southern in the Sun Belt Conference East.
Talk about a major win that quickly changes after the game. When ESPN’s broadcast caught one Thundering Herd player arguing with an official in the end zone,

Defensive back Josh Moten was identified as the player involved in the incident with the ball boy after the game. The ball boy appeared to be trying to knock the football out of Moten’s hands as the player was running off the field.
The ball picker was then seen engaging in a pushing competition with another Marshall player.
Moten issued an apology after the game.

“I apologize for the incident after yesterday’s game,” he wrote on X on Sunday. “That’s not what I’m talking about. It was an intense game and at that moment, emotions overcame me. For ODU and my team, I apologize for taking away the attention from a great game.”
Moten had five total tackles in the game and intercepted a pass from Old Dominion quarterback Colton Joseph in the first quarter. It was Moten’s fourth interception of the season.
The junior quarterback transferred to Marshall in 2023 after a stint with Texas A&M.
Marshall is 8-3 overall this season, having won five straight after losing to Georgia Southern at the start of the year. The loss was the only blemish on their record.
