President-elect Donald Trump described Richard “Rick” Grenell, his former acting director of national intelligence, as He described him as a “wonderful person” and “A STAR” in response to news reports about him possibly serving as special envoy to Iran.
Reuters reports that Trump was considering appointing Grenell to the position, citing “two people familiar with the transition plans.”
“He was definitely on the run,” a person familiar with the proceedings told the outlet on condition of anonymity, but Grenell said the report was “made up.”
Trump shared the Reuters report on Truth Social on Wednesday night. Although he did not confirm or deny the information in the article. But he wrote, “Richard Grenell is a wonderful person. A STAR. He will be somewhere, higher!”
