Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., is calling on his party to stop breathing too quickly over the loss of President Donald Trump. Trump earlier this month
In a new interview with The New York Times Fetterman said the frenzy and resentment his party expressed after Trump’s victory only made him stronger and liberals were not involved.
“We weren’t even at Thanksgiving. And Democrats can’t stop losing their minds every so often. Fifteen minutes is fine. Do we really have to pace ourselves or FFS (for f—‘s sake) just grab, grab” and then. told Times reporter Jess Bidgood.–
Trump says media is important in keeping America ‘Great again’, pledging to work with ‘free, fair and open’ media
Lawmakers made the point in their response to Bidgood, asking if the Democratic leader “There needs to be an analysis of what went wrong,” noting that the party should take time to reevaluate its strategy instead of flying away.
“Realize that the election went on like this. At least for the next two years. They will have the opportunity to write stories and drive the narrative,” he said.
The investigative reporter got more specific, asking Fetterman how the party should respond to the president-elect’s Cabinet picks. His advice is to be patient and avoid excessive resistance.
“I’m just saying. Buckle up and prepare lunch. Because it’s going to be four years now. And if you had the choice to freak out It’s your right then, but I won’t,” he said, adding, “I’m not that friend. And I’m not that Democrat. I will choose my battles.”
He also warned his colleagues that “If you’re crazy about everything, You lose any relevance.”
Bidgood asked the liberals. Is it “doing too much anxiety” about Trump?
Trump’s victory proves the importance of candid, long-form platform-based podcasts that show the ‘human side’ of a candidate.
“It’s biological. One person eats food from another. Democrats can’t resist bigotry. And that has to be the wind beneath Trump’s wings,” Fetterman said.
Fetterman added: “All the symptoms of anxiety and anxiety. And all that should happen before Nov. 5.”
“The grip on the pearl is very strong. Will it change anything?” he said. “Does it work? Does it change the election? Is it effective and like, I can’t believe the dissatisfaction. That must be a treat for Trump.”
Trump won Fetterman’s home state of Pennsylvania in the 2024 election, marking the fifth consecutive election in which the state’s winner also won the White House. Fetterman is elected to his first term in 2022 and has repeatedly warned of Trump’s strength in the state even if Joe Biden wins the 2020 election.
