Jones signed with the Vikings as a reserve. Sam Darnold, Another former New York quarterback who left town for good after his tenure with the Jets ended.
When asked why Minnesota was the best fit among the other teams, who needs help in the quarterback position Jones specifically points to the success the offense has seen this season.

“I think you are pessimistic about what they can do. I think the system, Coach O’Connell, his staff – there’s a lot of good things happening across the board as a team, as an organization, but especially on offense. Just excited to join in and help wherever I can.”

The Giants are 0-2 since the split. But Jones appears to be putting the past to rest.
“The last few weeks have definitely been crazy. There’s a lot going on. I’m excited to finally be here. This is a wonderful opportunity,” he said on Friday. “I am looking forward to learning the system and building relationships with these guys and helping the team.”
