Daniel Jones opens up about decision to sign with Vikings after split from Giants: ‘Excited to be here’


Daniel Jones opened up this week about his decision to sign with. Minnesota Vikings as a backup quarterback after he was released by the New York Giants at his own request.

“I think you are pessimistic about what they can do. I think the system, Coach O’Connell, his staff – there’s a lot of good things happening across the board as a team, as an organization, but especially on offense. Just excited to join in and help wherever I can.”

The Giants are 0-2 since the split. But Jones appears to be putting the past to rest.

“The last few weeks have definitely been crazy. There’s a lot going on. I’m excited to finally be here. This is a wonderful opportunity,” he said on Friday. “I am looking forward to learning the system and building relationships with these guys and helping the team.”
